Passport to Success: Where Is Your Career Taking You?

The Newark Human Resources office is excited to announce a redesign to our yearly staff recognition event. This year, we have partnered with the Staff Council Formation Committee, and colleagues from across the campus  develop a more robust way of showing you how much we appreciate everything that you do for Rutgers University-Newark! 

This year’s theme for Staff Appreciation is: Passport to Success: Where is Your Career Taking You?

To launch this year’s events, on March 2nd, we will kick-off our Staff Appreciation and Program with a  sponsored lunch for 300 employees at Stonsby Commons.

During the months of March through June, you will have the opportunity to participate in a series of learning and development sessions. Some of the themes for the sessions will be centered on Leadership Development, Communication, Cultural Competency, Civic Engagement, and much more. These sessions will be hosted by both internal and external subject matter experts.

EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION KICK OFF 

Human Resources in partnership with The Chancellor’s Office, will sponsor lunch for 300 employees at Stonsby Commons from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m in celebration of National Employee Appreciation Day!

In addition, a representative from Dining Services will host a table on-site providing employees an opportunity to sign up for the Raiders Card Program. Dining Services; in collaboration with the Staff Appreciation Committee and HR Newark, is excited to present our First Annual “RU-N Restaurant Week” to be hosted in May 2018 – details coming soon! Any employee and student enrolled in the Raiders Card Program will receive a discounted price and/or prix fix menu at participating Raider Card Restaurant locations.

In order to ensure everyone has the opportunity to take part; the first 100 employees during the allotted times below, must present their RU-N Employee ID to eat FREE. The time slots are as follows:

  • 10:30 a.m. (First 100 employees)
  • 11:30 a.m. (First 100 employees)
  • 12:30 p.m. (First 100 employees)

All staff who attend this Kickoff Event will receive their RU-N Passport to Success, which will provide instructions on how to obtain opportunities for chances to win Raffles and Giveaways at our RU-N Annual Staff Appreciation Day scheduled on June 26, 2018. If you are unable to attend the Kickoff on March 2, 2018 and would like an RU-N Passport to Success; please stop by Human Resources between the hours of 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. located at:

STAFF COUNCIL

Throughout the Spring 2018 semester, the Staff Council Formation Committee will host a series of Information Sessions to provide everyone with the opportunity to participate and fully engage in the first Rutgers Staff Council to launch at Rutgers University-Newark! The elected Staff Council Executive Board and the Staff Council Committee members will be formally inaugurated during the Staff Appreciation Day on June 26, 2018.

STAFF APPRECIATION DAY

On Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. we will have our annual celebration and raffles, giveaways, games, and other activities for you to enjoy!

This year’s agenda is as follows:

  • 1:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Registration
  • 2:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Community Update
  • 2:30 p.m.-2:45 p.m. Staff Council Inauguration Address by Chancellor Nancy Cantor
  • 2:45 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Staff Council Inauguration Ceremony
  • 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Celebration/Appreciation Day events (fun filled activities)
